The police are looking for a lost girl after the mother was arrested for allegedly locking the siblings in the closet

The police in Texas said they were looking for a missing 9-year-old girl who had not been seen for more than seven years whose lost after the child was arrested for allegedly locking her 7-year-old daughter in a closet for weeks.
Virginia Marie Gonzales, 33, from Austin, was arrested on charges of injury to a child after the 7 -year -old girl was found “locked in the closet and hunger” last month, according to Austin Detective Russell Constable.
The girl’s grandmother called the police after she found the child “malnutrition, dirty and in the bedroom closet” on April 3, according to the arrest warrant. Grandma had gone to the apartment after Gonzales was arrested for having marijuana, according to a written statement.

Gonzales is suspected of withdrawing his son in the closet for a month, giving him a hot dog or corn dog in the morning and evening and half a cup of water every day, according to a written statement.
The girl was immediately taken to a local hospital for medical treatment, where she was found weighing 29 pounds and had signs of malnutrition, according to a written statement. He is currently recovering, said Constable during the Press Briefing Tuesday, said the case was “emotional difficult.”
There are six other children at home between ages 2 and 14 who seem physically healthy, the police said. Although during the investigation, the authorities learned that there was an eighth child, Ava Marie Gonzales, who was not in the house and had not been seen by his family or friends since December 2017, when he was 2 years old and in his mother’s detention, the police said.
“The detective of the person lost from the Austin police department is very worried about the welfare of Ava, given the situation where Ava’s 7 -year -old siblings were found,” Constable said.

ABC News reaches Gonzales’ lawyers and does not immediately receive a response. He was detained in the Travis Regency Penitentiary Complex with $ 75,000 bonds and had a court hearing scheduled for next week, online prisons and court records showed.
Ava has not been reported missing by her mother or anyone, said Constable.
The police said the girl had “given conflicting information to many different family members” about the existence of Ava, and the police asked anyone who might have seen it or knew where she would advance.
The police have not identified his father, he said.
Constable said Gonzales had given some information to the police about the missing child that they tried to strengthen.
“We hope to get more information and try to find out where he is,” he said.
As far as the Austin police know, there are no Gonzales children registered at school, said Constable.
