‘I thought I would die’: Sole survivor from Air India Plane Crash spoke

London – Vishwaskumar Ramesh, the one who survived the Indian air plane crash heading to England from Ahmedabad, India, which made all passengers and other crew die, along with five more on the ground, saying he “thought I would die” when he recovered at the hospital the day after the tragedy.
“Everything happened before my eyes. I thought I would die,” Ramesh told NDTV in an exclusive interview on Friday. “The side where I sat down to the ground floor of the building. There was room. When the door broke, I saw the room and I just jumped out.”
“The door must be damaged,” continued Ramesh. “There is a wall on the opposite side, but near me, it is open. I run. I don’t know how. I don’t know how I come out of life. The Indian Air Airplane carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members was on their way and crashed into a building shortly after taking off on Thursday, killing 246 people, officials said.
The victims including 241 passengers and crew members as well as five medical students who were in medical college and hospitals that were hit by aircraft, according to hospital officials. Many others in the injured building – some serious – and receive treatment, said hospital officials.
Ramesh’s brother, Nayanykumar Ramesh, said it was a “miracle” his brother survived.
“He said, ‘Our plane crashed, I didn’t know where my brother was. I didn’t see other passengers. I didn’t know how I lived, how did I get out of the plane,” Nayanykumar Ramesh told ABC News about his escape from the plane. “Just heard about the accident, I’m afraid of flying now, even staying on the plane now.”
