Russia launched a missile strike in Ukraine with an explosion reported in Kyiv

London – Russian missile strikes killed at least one person in the capital of Ukraine Kyiv in early Sunday, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, when Moscow continued the intense period of long-distance attacks in Ukraine cities.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported 23 missiles and 109 strike drones launched to the country last night, where 13 missiles and 40 drones were shot, with 53 other drones missing in flights without causing damage.

Damage was reported in the Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Mykolaiv areas, said the Air Force.

In the capital, Klitschko said one person was killed and three people were injured, while the fire broke out in a “non-resource building.” One office building was also partly destroyed, he said.

Andriy Yermak, Head of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, wrote on Telegram, “Russia increases the intensity of the attack and clearly does not want to stop shooting, does not want peace. He wants to kill Ukraine, our children.”

“The language of strength is one -only [Russian President Vladimir] Putin understood, “Yermak added.” All of our partners must switch to this language. “

Zelenskyy said the strike proved that “Pressure on Russia is still not enough.”

“Such attacks are Putin’s response to all international diplomatic efforts,” Zelenskyy said in a statement posted on Telegram. “There is no decrease in pressure. It is necessary to direct all strengths to ensure safety and bring peace closer.”

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense, said his troops shot down 11 Ukraine drones last night in three Russian regions.

Both parties continued to carry out long distance attacks when the ceasefire negotiations in the US continued. Last month, both Kyiv and Moscow said they agreed to freeze attacks on energy infrastructure and final attacks in the Black Sea.

Both parties have since accusing others of violating the agreement to stop energy infrastructure attacks.

Ukraine also accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians in big attacks over the past week. On Friday, Russian ballistic missile attacks and drones in the city of Kryvyi Rih – City of Zelenskyy – killed 19 people, including nine children.

“Yes, the war must end,” Zelenskyy wrote in a Saturday morning statement. “But to end it, we should not be afraid to mention the shovel. We must not be afraid to put pressure on the only one who continued this war and ignore all the world proposals to end it.”

“We must pressure Russia, who choose to kill children instead of a ceasefire. We must introduce additional sanctions against those who cannot exist without ballistic attacks on neighboring people. We must do everything possible to save lives.”
