Wingtip from one plane hit another on Taxiway at Reagan Airport: FAA

The American Airlines wing crashed into another American Airlines plane at a taxiway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, DC, on Thursday, according to Federal flight administration.
No one was injured, said Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. Both aircraft returned to the gate and airport operations were not affected, the agency said.
Rep. Nick Lalota, RN.Y., Tweeted that the plane “stayed on the runway” when another aircraft “crashed into our wings.”
“Thank God everything is fine!” He added.
“We hit our right wing – it was a loud voice,” Lalota told ABC News Live.
He said when he looked out the window, he saw the wings trembling.
“The plane shook violently,” Josh Gottheimer, DN.J., another congress member on the flight, told ABC News Live. “It’s quite clear that we were beaten.”
“The pilot came and told us that we would not go anywhere except back to the gate. We then waited about 45 minutes or more before they could move us,” Gottheimer said.
He said the incident was unacceptable.
“The key is now to ensure that we do, from the perspective of supervision, everything that is possible to ensure that FAA takes the right action, not only to investigate what happens, but advances to protect all our airports,” he said.

“This is not time to cut faa[‘s jobs] When they are short of staff, “he said, calling it” very alarming. “
Rep. Grace Meng, Dn.Y., who is also on the flight, agreed with Gottheimer, wrote on social media, “I am grateful that no one is injured today, but this incident underlined this urgent need to restore all the work of FAA who kept our runway safe.”
The airline said “Damage is limited to wings on each aircraft” and aircraft “has been expelled from services to be examined.”
“Safety is our top priority, and we apologize to our customers for their experience,” added the airline.
The representative flight headed to JFK International Airport in New York. Another plane headed to Charleston, South Carolina.
Faa said he was investigating.
Reagan has been monitored since January, when the American Airlines and army helicopters collided near the airport, killing everyone on the plane.
