US and Ukraine Mineral Resources Agreement

The US and Ukraine have signed an agreement to create a long-awaited United States-Ukrainian-agreement investment fund that gives US rights to the Mineral of Ukrainian Earth, both parties announced Wednesday.
“This agreement indicates clearly to Russia that the Trump government is committed to the peace process that is centered on the free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine in the long run,” Minister of Finance Scott Besent said in a press release. “President Trump imagined this partnership between the American people and the people of Ukraine to demonstrate the commitment of both parties to the eternal peace and prosperity in Ukraine. And to be clear, there is no country or people who finance or supply the Russian war machine will be allowed to benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine.”
Ukraine Economic Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said in a post about X, “Together with the United States, we created funds that would attract global investment to our country.”
In the video that discusses the agreement posted on X, BeSent gave further details about the agreement.
“This partnership allows the United States to invest with Ukraine to unlock Ukraine’s growth assets, mobilize American talent, capital and governance standards that will increase the investment climate of Ukraine and accelerate the recovery of Ukraine economics,” Besent said in the video.
Both parties are ready to sign an agreement on critical minerals and other resources before but the US said he wanted the Main Mineral Resources Agreement signed and the creation of an investment fund document signed at the same time, said Ukraine Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and a source at the Ukraine President’s Office.

Ukraine has planned to separate the date of signing, because the creation of the Fund Agreement is still being completed, the source added.
“Now they will be in a hurry to finish it,” said the source.
Ukraine said he was ready to sign but met with the last minute obstacle when the US asked him to sign both the mineral resource agreement and the investment fund agreement at the same time, a Ukraine official told ABC News. The US denied a series of events in the comments during the President Donald Trump cabinet meeting on Wednesday, saying “ready to sign” the agreement but Ukraine decided on Tuesday night to “make a few changes in the last minute,” Bessent said.
“Our side is ready to sign,” Bessent said.
When asked what was changed, Bessent said there was no “there was no change on our side.”
Trump then included a mineral resource agreement into “context,” talking about the amount of money given by the US for the Ukraine war effort. But he seemed optimistic about the prospect of the agreement that came together.
“But we are not really looking at the fruit of the agreement. I’m suspicious of us,” Trump said.
Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy were originally determined to sign a mineral agreement at the end of February, but the plan slipped after the exchange of tension between the two men in the Oval office.
