Ukraine Drone Barrage targets Moscow because Zelenskyy demands accountability for Putin

LONDON – At least 10 Ukraine drones were shot down on their approach to Moscow last night until Sunday morning, according to the Mayor of City, with temporary restrictions introduced at two capital city airports.

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that emergency services were sent to the location of the fall of the drone. The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the aircraft that was not issued attacked Moscow was among the 67 Ukraine drones that were shot down overnight.

To the south of the capital city, the Governor of the Tula Dmitry Milyeeev region reported a drone attack on the Azot chemical plant in Novomoskovsk and the fire there was caused by a decrease in debris. Two people were injured, Milyeev wrote in the Telegram. “The situation is under control,” he said.

Russian troops continued their own distance strikes to Ukraine last night, with the Ukraine Air Force reported 49 drones and three missiles were fired to the country. The Air Force tells the telegram that it shoots falling or neutralized by 40 drones.

The last few weeks have seen both parties intensifying their long -distance strike operations, even when US peace negotiations continue in an effort to end Russia’s 3 -year invasion of their neighbors.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Saturday night that his people needed to “immediately” strengthen the ability of air defense in responding to Russian missiles that intensified and drone attacks in cities throughout the country.

The City of Northeast Kharkiv – which is located about 19 miles from the Russian border – is among those who are attacked this weekend. At least three people were killed and 23 were injured there on Saturday, according to the head of the local military government. At least four more people were killed by attacks elsewhere in the country, said officials.

“We are trying to strengthen Ukraine air defense,” said Zelenskyy, according to the reading posted on his office website. “We really need a positive signal from the United States – a concrete signal regarding the air defense system. We are still waiting for a response to our request to buy a system that can help – concrete signals, not words.”

“I want to thank European countries for their supplies,” he added. “We also have to achieve results in the joint production of the air and missile defense system for them – this is very important for all of our Europe. Only the time separates us from those results, and the most important thing is to shorten the time.”

Zelenskyy and his main officials have framed the developing Russian attacks – and the growing figures of Ukraine civilian casualties – as proof that Russian President Vladimir Putin was not authentic in his clear willingness to negotiate a peaceful agreement.

Russia’s latest series of Ukraine operations last weekend where agents used more than 100 drones hidden in large trucks to attack the strategic bombing base deep in Russia. Moscow swore revenge for the attack, which was celebrated by Ukraine officials as historic success.

Zelenskyy said on Saturday that the new Russian attack in Ukraine cities could not be forgiven as “retaliation,” and once again urged Western partners to do more to force Putin to ease the demands of the same maximum peace with the capitulation of Ukraine.

“There is no form of pressure on Russia that can be different,” he said. “Russia is preparing to continue the war and ignore all peace proposals. They must be held accountable for this.”

“We realize that Russia is now trying to show that they are suspected of being immune to any pressure,” added Zelenskyy. “But it is very important for the world to understand: Just like pressure forces Russia into the negotiation process, pressure can force Russia to be realistic in negotiations.”

“This may be precisely due to pressure, and most importantly, sanctions for Russian oil and those who are still trading with Russia,” he said. “Russia must end this war which starts. They must be pushed into this result.”
