Trump said he gave Iran the window to come to the table. He hit 2 days later.

Only on Thursday that President Donald Trump said he would decide “in the next two weeks” about whether to order US military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities – as if giving a diplomacy for opportunities, at least for a while.
“Based on the fact that there is a great opportunity for negotiations that may or may not occur with Iran in the near future, I will make a decision whether to enter or not in the next two weeks,” Trump said in a statement read by reporters by the Press Secretary of the White House Karoline Leavitt.
On Friday, asked by a reporter to explain his thoughts, he answered that it gave time for Iranians to “Conscious.”

The President also rejected the talks held in the Friday Geneva between European diplomats and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, to reduce hope that was already low for breakthroughs.
“They don’t help,” Trump said about the discussion. “Iran doesn’t want to talk to Europe. They want to talk to us. Europe will not be able to help in this regard.”

He added, “We are ready, willing and able and have spoken to Iran and we will see what is happening.”
When a reporter asks, “Can Iran have two weeks or can you attack before? Can you basically give them two weeks?” Trump replied, “Well I gave them a period of time. We will see what time period is. But I give them a period of time, and I will say two weeks will be maximal.”
In the last few days, Iran has refused an offer to stand from the US to continue nuclear negotiations.
The announcement of the President on Thursday regarding the possibility of delay in hitting Iran who was frustrated by Israeli officials, who personally encourage their case for US military involvement for months, according to officials who are familiar with the problem.
Meanwhile, because of the sharp difference between Israel and America’s assessment of Iran’s nuclear abilities came to the frontlines, Trump also showed distrust of his own intelligence community, including the Director of his own national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard.
On Friday, Trump was asked about Gabbard’s testimony to the Congress in March that the US considered that Iran did not “build” nuclear weapons and that the supreme leader Ali Khamenei did not endorse the nuclear weapons program which he was dismissed in 2003.
“He’s wrong,” Trump said flatly.
Shortly after Trump spoke, Gabbard criticized the news media, posted on X, “America has an intelligence that Iran at the point that he can produce nuclear weapons in a few weeks to several months, if they decide to complete the assembly. President Trump has clearly unable to happen, and I agree.”

Speaking to the country Saturday night – about two hours after he announced the attack – Trump said, “Iran, the Middle East annoying, must now make peace. If not, the attack in the future will be much bigger and much easier.”
