Trump Admin Direct Renewal: Parliament Speaker Defending Trump because of the economic pain of the tariff

Representative of Jahana Hayes, D-Conn., National Teacher in 2016, launched Caucus Congress Teachers to start the 2025 Teacher’s Appreciation Week.
Hayes said the caucus aimed to provide a special platform for educators who were assigned to the congress to find common sense solutions to overcome the current educational problems, according to the release of the Hayes office.
Caucus also launched a direct response to “unprecedented attacks” on public education and Trump’s promise to close the US Department of Education.

Representative Jahana Hayes spoke during the post-Democratic Democratic Press Conference in Capitol, 18 September 2024.

A fierce defender of public education, Hayes is one of several educators at the congress and serves as members of the DPR Education and Manpower Committee. Hayes and coalition members of parliament who had been outspoken about the administrative mission to eliminate the agency were rejected entry to the department earlier this year.
“What you won’t do is turn off this department and deny access to all children needed when we are in the congress.” Representative Hayes said, speaking at a press conference outside the agency.
“We will not allow Donald Trump and its allies to rob the piggy bank from the Ministry of Education and transfer the funds needed by many of our children to fund their rich billionaire friends, and all the voucher programs of this school choice,” Hayes added.
The congress can dismantle the Ministry of Education if 60 senators choose “Yes” on the law targeting the agency.
