Tory Lanez, in prison for shooting horses, was hospitalized after an attack by fellow prisoners

Tory Lanez was treated at the hospital on Monday after an inmate at the California Correctional Institution at Tehilahapi attacked the rapper at around 7:20 local time, a spokesman for prison to ABC News.
“The staff immediately responded, activated 911 and started medical assistance. Peterson was then transported to an external medical facility for further treatment,” said the spokesman.
Rapper, whose official name is Daystar Peterson, served a 10-year prison sentence for shooting and injuring fellow Hip-Hop Stars Megan Thoe Stallion, whose legal name was Megan Pete, in July 2020.
The prison spokesman did not give further comments when asked about the nature of Peterson’s injury, whether he had been released from the hospital or whether a suspect had been charged in the attack.
Crystal Morgan, a lawyer who represented Peterson, confirmed to ABC News that the rapper was attacked at correctional facilities and said that on Monday afternoon he was still being treated at the hospital.
Morgan said he could not get information about his wounds or conditions and “in darkness” like other people. Morgan added that he called Peterson’s family to tell them about the attack.
The prison investigation service unit and the Kern County District Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation of the incident, while the Inspector General Office had been notified, the spokesman said.
ABC News has contacted the DA office for additional comments.

Peterson was found guilty on December 23, 2022, over three accusations to shoot and injured Pete on both feet when they left a party in Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020.
He was originally charged in October 2020 with a crime of each attack with a semi-automatic firearm (the use of private firearms) and carrying firearms that were loaded and not registered in the vehicle, according to the filling documents obtained by ABC News.
He was also charged ahead of the trial in December 2022 with an additional number of crimes for issuing firearms with large -scale negligence. Lanez, who chose not to take the witness’s attitude during the trial, claimed to be innocent of the three charges.
The lawyer for his opinion was of the opinion that Lanez was not a shooter and he had defended his innocence in various social media posts since his sentence last year.
During his sentence, the prosecutor read the statement of the impact of Pete – who testified during the trial – where he asked Peterson to “be forced to face the full consequences of heinous acts and face justice.”
“He not only shot me, he made my trauma mockery. He tried to position himself as a victim and departed to destroy my character and soul,” Pete said in his impact statement.
Peterson was rejected by his ties by the High Court judge Los Angeles County on September 14, 2023, when his legal team appealed for a 10 -year sentence.
