The boy was hit by lightning during a severe thunderstorm in the northeast

A teenager was touched by lightning in New York City on Thursday, said the police, because the parts of the northeast were under the threat of severe lightning storms.
The severe storm watches apply above and under the corridor I-95 until 9 pm Thursday for cities including Richmond, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York City. Around 60 million people are alert for bad weather.
The warning of severe lightning storms has also been issued in several regions, including in Southeast Pennsylvania.
The main threat with this storm is a gust of wind that damages an area of up to 75 mph. Hail and Tornado are also possible.

Tornado “Large and Very Dangerous” is located on Landenberg in Southeast Pennsylvania around 5 pm Thursday, said the National Weather Service.
In New York City, a teenager was struck by lightning in Central Park, Thursday afternoon, police said. The teenager was alert and aware, said the police. The incident occurred at the famous east meadow garden, outside of Fifth Avenue and East 96th Street.
The storm has caused power outages and flight cancellation along the east coast.
More than 500,000 customers in mid-Atlantic without electricity on Thursday night, especially in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland, according to Poweroutage.us.
Nearly 600 flights have been canceled nationally on Thursday, according to Flightaware, with the most affected Laguardia Airport.
