Memorial Day Mass Shooting Leaves 2 Dead, 9 Wounds in Philadelphia Park

Two people have died, and nine others have been injured in the mass shooting of the warning day in Philadelphia, the authorities said.

The shooting took place at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia on Monday night, the last day of the Long Memorial Day weekend, when the shot erupted at around 10:27 at night at the Lemon Hill Drive at the Poplar Drive, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Two people and unnamed men and adult women – killed and at least nine others were injured in the shooting, including three teenagers aged between 15 and 17 years, said Police Commissioner Philadelphia Kevin Betel.

Some rounds were fired, said Bethel, and investigators worked to determine whether some different weapons were involved.

Nothing was arrested, Bethel confirmed, and no weapons were found.

Fairmount Park is busy during the day, according to the Philadelphia ABC WPVI station, when families and community members gather to cook and barbecue commemoration.

The names of the victims have not been released.
