Is there a white genocide in South Africa? Check Trump Oval Office Claims

President Donald Trump claims there is a ongoing “genocide” against white farmers in South Africa during a tense meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Oval office on Wednesday.

Ramaphosa, the main political party in South Africa and the South African judge, have denied the existence of white genocide in the country.

Elon Musk, a native of South Africa and Trump’s main advisor, was present for Ramaphosa’s visit to the White House. He previously also voiced Trump’s accusation that South African white people escaped the country because of “violence and racist law.”

In February 2025, the South African Court decided that the White Genocide Claim was baseless, calling them “unreal” and “clearly imagined.”

The verdict came after a rich generous in the country wanted to donate $ 2.1 million to the boeregegioen white supremacy group, which was rejected by the court.

While the White Genocide claim has been banned by the court, it is true that there is a problem with farmers killed in South Africa.

This murder was brutal, and the overall murder rate in South Africa was high, with 45 murder per 100,000 people, according to data collected in 2023, but there was no indication that this murder was driven by race.

South African crime statistics do not distinguish between victims’ races, and there is no special category for agricultural murder.

During an oval office meeting with Trump, Ramaphosa said, “There is crime in our country. People who are killed, unfortunately, through criminal activities are not only white people, the majority of them are black people.”

Spokesman for South African President Vincent Magwenya told ABC News that there was no “evidence” to support genocide claims and accused that foreign intelligence of the United States would reiterate it.

“There is no evidence of what is claimed here. The US has a very sophisticated intelligence mechanism. I can tell you now, if your intelligence community is willing to come out and speak, they will tell you that what is spread here is completely wrong,” Magwen said.

The White House released a statement after the meeting titled “President Trump Right about what happened in South Africa,” duplicating the unfounded government genocide claims that occurred in this country.

The statement has a list of press clippings that they say supports their position that genocide occurs in the country, pointing to articles from Fox News, Breitbart and BBC. Many clippings in release refer to individual actions or the threat of violence.

In the midst of a sustainable Trump and Musk genosida claims, dozens of refugees Afrikser arrived in the US last week after their application was tracked quickly under the executive order issued by Trump in February entitled “Overcoming the terrible actions of the Republic of South Africa.”

The order argues that the South African government passed the law that allowed it to “seize the ethnic minority of Africaners’ agricultural property without compensation” in “surprising neglect of the rights of its citizens.”

This instructed that the US would not provide assistance or assistance to the nation, and that the US would “promote the re -settlement of Afrikr refugees.”

Trump has been criticized for prioritizing Afrikaner when moving to limit immigration from other places, including from Afghanistan, Venezuela and Haiti.
