Escape New Orleans Prison: A gift for tips that caused the capture of the remaining 2 fugitives to increase to $ 50,000
Prizes for the arrest of the remaining two prisoners who came out of the New Orleans prison this month have doubled to $ 50,000, the authorities announced on Thursday, because the police said they believed they approached the “dangerous” fugitive.
Antoine Massey and Derrick Groves were among 10 inmates who fled from the Orleans Justice Center on May 16, according to State Police Louisiana.
In almost two weeks since then, eight prisoners have been arrested, but Massey and Groves remain in escape, the police said.

Now there is a total prize of $ 50,000 per prisoner for tips that lead to their arrest, according to the Supervisor of the State Police Louisiana, Colonel Robert Hodges. That includes prizes offered from Crimestoppers Greater New Orleans, FBI and alcohol bureaus, tobacco, firearms and explosives, he said.
Hodges said the police had a “strong instructions” about where the remaining two fugitives were, even though they still needed tips because of the men’s movements.
“We are sure that we approached the remaining two escapes, and that we had to hold it immediately,” he said during a press briefing on Thursday. “We are tough, and even though they will be tired and frustrated when they try to move around Louisiana or move around the metropolitan area, they know the walls approach.”
Authorities urge anyone with information about the existence of the two fugitives to reach while admitting it may be difficult.
“We understand, together with our law enforcement partners, that some of you might report a friend, loved ones, relatives, and although not easy, it is very important for your safety and public safety that you report that,” said Walter Martin, Deputy Head of Marshal US for the East Louisiana District, said during the direction.
Martin vowed to reclaim “dangerous inmates.” One of them, Groves, was recently punished for two accusations of murder second in the 2018 Mardi Gras Day shooting and faced life sentences in prison without the possibility of parole, the prosecutor said. He also later pleaded guilty to two charges of murder, online court records showed.

Hodges warns that anyone who helps the remaining fugitives will be captured and prosecuted.
“Now is the time to make the right choice,” he said.
Crimestoppers from Greater New Orleans President and CEO of Darlene Cusanza said on Thursday the organization had received nearly 700 tips related to the prisoner’s escape, which resulted in the arrest of the three of them. An inmate was arrested within 30 minutes after receiving a tip, he said. Three tipsters will be paid $ 10,000, he said.

More than a dozen people have been arrested for being suspected of helping the escapes, including other inmates in prison and a prison maintenance worker who is accused of killing water to the toilet that allows the escape to release it.
Three out of 10 prisoners who fled were arrested in New Orleans in the first 24 hours of Jailbreak. Others were arrested on the following days, including in Baton Rouge and two in Texas.
Eight prisoners arrested have been transported to safe state facilities in Louisiana, said Hodges.
