Erick Storm Slamming Mexican Pacific Coast as a Strong Cat 3 Storm

Hurricane Erick, which quickly increased overnight, made the landing Thursday morning at the Pacific Coast of Mexico as a strong category 3 storm, said the National Storm Center (NHC).
Erick came to land in the western state of Oaxaca which was packaged in Mexico which was sustainable wind 125 mph and heavy rain, according to the NHC.
The storm is located on Thursday morning about 20 miles east of Maldonado Punta and moved northwest of about 9 MPH, according to the NHC.

The Erick storm made a landing in Mexico as a category 3 storm.

Before landing, Erick had rolled to a category 4 “very dangerous” storm on the Saffir-Simpson storm, but was revealed into a cat 3 before making a landing, the NHC Center reported.
Erick is the first 3 Pacific category storm recorded to make landing above Mexico in June.

Storm warnings are still valid Thursday from Acapulco to Puerto Angel.
It is still unclear whether the villages along the Pacific coast inhabited by Mexico are damaged. There have been no immediate reports about death or injury.
The main storm seems to hit the coastline between the Cities of the Acapulco Resort and Puerto Escondido in areas near the border of Oaxaca and Guerrero countries, according to the NHC.
When sweeping throughout the State of Oaxaca, Erick is expected to slam parts of the area with strong winds and heavy rain for most Thursday before the weakening of the land on Friday.

Erick will produce heavy rain up to 6 to 8 inches across Southeast Guerrero and Oaxaca West-Coastal until Friday and the possibility of triggering floods of cages and landslides that threaten lives in areas with regions with steep terrain.
Erick was formed as a tropical storm on Tuesday morning in the Pacific Ocean near South Mexico and quickly increased, achieving the power of the storm on Wednesday, according to the NHC.
