Diplomatic breakthrough or military action?: Trump’s choice in Iran: Analysis

When President Donald Trump gathered with his main advisor in the White House situation room on Tuesday, US officials signaled that the next 24 to 48 hours would be very important in determining whether the diplomatic solution with Iran could probably – or if the president might use military action instead.
Trump significantly increased its rhetoric to the Iranian regime ahead of the meeting, stating that the US knew exactly where Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was hiding.
“He is an easy target, but safe there – we will not take him out (kill!), At least not for now. But we do not want missiles to be shot to civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience uses thin,” Trump wrote on social media.
“We now have complete and total control over the sky over Iran,” he said at another post.

The last chance for diplomacy?
Although the sword is clearly crushing, US negotiator on Tuesday continues to judge that Iran is in a weak position and can be forced to return to the negotiation table and eventually receive an agreement that will require him to leave all nuclear enrichment, according to many officials involved in the diplomatic process.
When the Iranian and Israeli trade exploded, the Iranian regime had hinted at the willingness to continue the discussion with the US, officials said, added that the Trump government had sought a more concrete commitment before resigning from the path of war.
If Iran returns to negotiations and agrees to bring down its uranium enrichment, US officials believe in high -level meetings led by special delegates Steve Witkoff and vice president who have the potential to occur as fast as this week.
But the scenario is likely to require Iran to move quickly. The President has recognized his patience with the situation in the Middle East wearing thin.
Sources who are familiar with the president’s mindset said he had become frustrated by Iran’s unstable inability to provide government with direct answers and also seemed very reluctant to allow the situation to be revealed where it seemed as if Tehran had succeeded in mentioning his military bluffs.

AS ‘Defensive’ Posture – for now
The US military has sent assets to the region, including sending additional aircraft and second aircraft carriers and the strike group to the Middle East – all defensive movements, officials said.
“We are strong, we are ready, we survive and attend,” said Defense Minister Pete Hegseth about the US posture in the Middle East during an interview with Fox News on Monday.
But while the asset repositioning is intended to protect 40,000 American troops that are thought to be placed in the region, he also made the option open to Trump’s administration if he decided to directly assist the ongoing Israeli offensive operation against Iran.
“This is our role in maintaining the options on the table, but our posture is still defensive,” said a US official.

The main question is whether the US will mobilize the B-2 stealth bomber. The heavy strategic bombers are able to carry a 30,000 pound -pound bunker bunker, which might destroy the deep nuclear nuclear facility in the former fuel enrichment factory.
At present, the 19 Bombers B-2 military fleet is located at the Whiteman Air Force base in Missouri. Six of the planes were previously deployed to the Air Base on the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean – much closer to Iran. However, they were replaced by B-52 long-distance bombers who were unable to carry bunker-buster bombs needed to destroy the Ferdo site.

The Navy also has two destroyers in the Red Sea, aircraft carriers, and three other surface ships in the Arabian Sea. Two more American destinations are in the eastern Mediterranean Sea – each of them is equipped with a missile defense system that is able to shoot in Iranian ballistic missiles.
The US Agenda shifted
Trump’s administrative signs of being able to move towards military action can include canceling the President’s plan to travel to the Netherlands for the NATO Summit next week.
At the press briefing on Tuesday, spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs Tammy Bruce said the peak was still “in books” but said the situation could change depending on the dynamics with Iran.
“This is something that moves – as tends to – very fast. So, I will say that everything might happen,” he said.
