As 'almost' ready to lift Ukraine Intel Freeze, Trump said ahead of the Saudi meeting

London – The US is “almost” ready to lift his freezing in sharing intelligence with Ukraine, President Donald Trump said on Sunday, when American and Ukraine negotiator prepared for bilateral talks in Saudi Arabia who intended to move towards a peaceful agreement to end the Russian three -year invasion.

“Well, we just have it,” Trump told reporters at the Air Force One when asked whether he would consider continuing intelligence. “We want to do whatever we can to make Ukraine serious about doing something,” he added.

Trump’s government has begun a dramatic axis far from the support of “Ironclad” from Ukraine which was practiced by former government former President Joe Biden.

Trump mistakenly blamed Ukraine for starting the war, trying to weaken the legitimacy of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, attempting to be strong armed Kyiv into a controversial mineral that shared agreements and freezing military assistance and intelligence support in an effort to force Ukraine to make concessions to Russia.

Tuesday’s talks in Riyadh were intended to revitalize bilateral relations after a few weeks of tense exchange between Washington, DC, and Kyiv, which peaked in the explosive oval office confrontation between Trump, Zelenskyy and Vice President JD Vance.

The US delegation in Saudi Arabia will include Secretary of State Marco Rubio and national security advisor Mike Waltz. The Ukraine team will be led by Andriy Yermak, Head of President Zelenskyy. The US side expects Ukraine to show the will to make peace, Trump suggested on Sunday.

“We will see many things,” he said. “We hold a big meeting. As you know, Saudi Arabia will include Russia. That will be Ukraine. We will see if we can finish something.”

“I think everyone wants to see it done,” added the President. “We will make a lot of progress.”

“I think they will sign a mineral agreement,” Trump said when asked about the progress of the controversial agreement. “I want them to want peace.” Trump claims that Ukraine has not shown that will.

Trump avoided answering whether he would impose sanctions or tariffs to Russia and appoint a meeting of the White House officials who were coming to Saudi Arabia. The President also avoided giving a definite answer when asked whether the US would continue his assistance to Ukraine if the mineral agreement was signed.

Zelenskyy will travel to Saudi Arabia on Monday to meet with the crown prince of the royal and de facto rulers, Mohammed bin Salman.

“Tomorrow, we will continue to work closer to peace – there will be a visit to Saudi Arabia,” wrote the President of Ukraine on Sunday social media. “Also, today, our team’s meeting – Ukraine and the United States – in Saudi Arabia has been prepared further. We hope for results – both in bringing peace closer and in sustainable support.”

On Monday morning, Zelenskyy said in a post for telegram, “Ukraine has been looking for peace since the first second of the war and we always say that the only reason for war continues is Russia.”

The US-Ukraine public rest has triggered concerns among European leaders, with leaders both gathered around Zelenskyy and urged him to improve their commotion with Trump. Officials in Russia looked happy, openly suggested that Trump’s government had harmonized his view with Kremlin.

Trump and his main official said that Ukraine and Russia would be expected to make a concession in pursuing a peaceful agreement to end the Moscow invasion, which automatically only the last chapter in more than a decade of cross -border aggression.

Trump last week suggested that in a post to social truth that he “was very considering large-scale sanctions” and Russian tariffs until the agreement was reached, added that Moscow “really hit ‘Ukraine on the current battlefield.” Trump also told a session with the congress that he had received a “strong signal” that Russia was ready to make peace.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said last week that the US-Ukraine talks in Saudi Arabia were “positive” developments, although there was an unresolved “nuance”.

“The question is with who should be negotiating?” Peskov told reporters. Russia has repeatedly framed Zelenskyy as an invalid president, quoting a delay in planning the 2024 presidential election in Ukraine which requires the imposition of martial emergency.

Kremlin also quoted Ukraine’s decision September 2022 where Zelenskyy stated negotiations with Putin “Impossible,” after Moscow claimed to have attached four Ukraine regions, partly occupied.

On Monday, Peskov told reporters that Russia read at this week’s meeting “not important.”

“What’s important here is what the United States expect at various levels,” he continued. “We have repeatedly heard the statement that the US expects Ukraine to show their desire to peace. Maybe that’s what everyone is waiting for. Is the Zelenskyy regime member really wanting peace or not. Of course, this is very important and necessary to decide.”

Meanwhile, both Russia and Ukraine continued their long -distance missile campaigns and their drone strikes. The deadly weekend strike by Russia encourages the judgment of several European countries.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, for example, wrote in X, “This is what happens when someone calms barbarians. More bombs, more aggression, more victims.”

Sunday night saw Russia launching 176 drone attacks to Ukraine, according to the Ukraine Air Force, including 130 shot down and 42 lost on flights without causing damage. The Air Force reports the impact in the Kharkiv, Polyte and Kyiv regions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said they shot down nine Ukraine drones overnight.
