The New York City Election Council reported at 22:30 Tuesday that Mamdani led among the voter candidates for their first place in their voting, with 44% of votes. Cuomo is second with about 36%. The financial supervisor of the city of Brad Lander was followed by around 11%.

Shortly after his remarks, in a shocking announcement, Cuomo’s campaign said he conceded primary and “looked to November,” showing he did not rule out the independent running.

Previously this spring, the Cuomo campaign said he would consider running on the sound line “fighting and giving” in the general election which he said was intended for voters who were disappointed with the Democratic Party.

The search for cuomo for the mayor is to mark the return of his politics for almost four years after he resigned from the governor’s position after several women accused him of committing sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior. Cuomo consistently denied the accusation.

In the Mayor’s race, Cuomo has campaigned in the message to be the most experienced in the competition and became a candidate who had taken Donald Trump for his time as governor. Mamdani has focused on progressive platforms that focus on the economy which includes freezing rental rental for apartments that are stabilized and eliminate tariffs for New York City bus.

Mamdani, who will become the first Muslim mayor in the city and the youngest mayor in a century if elected, faced skepticism of the feasibility of several proposals and reverse reactions to some of his comments about Israel.

Even with Cuomo’s announcement, the race was arranged to continue to the number of ranking choices because there were no candidates from 11 in the voting get more than 50%.

Tuesday results do not reflect the ranking selection tabulation. More comprehensive results will not be reported until July 1, when the Election Board plans to run a ranking selection tabulation. Under the voting system the selection of city ranking, if there are no candidates who break 50%, candidates with the least number of votes are removed, and the tabulation of the sound continues in the round. In the second half, voters with the first choice candidate were eliminated getting their second choice votes. It continued to run until only two candidates were left, and the candidate who took the lead at that time won the primer.

A spokesman for the City Election Council, Vincent Ignizio, told ABC News that waiting for a week for comprehensive results was because, in part, until the time needed to retrieve the voting machine data.

The Election Board plans to complete the vote count for the next few weeks and will state the results on July 15.

Nearly 1 million New York residents chose earlier or on the main day, per council.

During the primary Mayor of Democrat 2021, which was the first time New York City used a ranking voting, a total of 942,031 votes were given in the Mayor’s race, according to data from the New York City Election Council.

In the very democratic New York, the possibility of the main winner of the Democratic in the Mayor’s race has the advantage of the general election in November.

But what has the potential to complicate problems, is the fact that the ruling Mayor of Democratic Eric Adams runs as independent in the fall.
