3rd woman was arrested for allegedly helping the escape of New Orleans inmates are still free

A slidell woman was arrested and accused of helping a fugitive who was still free from new jailbreak in New Orleans Elude Capture, said the Louisiana state police.
Connie Weeden, 59, detained at Slidell and ordered to the Parish Correctional Center St. Tammany on Thursday. In addition to prison employees, he was the third person arrested for helping the ORLEANS Justice Center inmates who fled.
Weeden faced the accusation of accessory crime after the facts for allegedly helping Jermaine Donald, one of the five escapes that was still under escape.

“Weeden was in contact by telephone before and after escape,” LSP officials said in a statement. “Investigators decided that after the escape, he gave Donald cash through the mobile application.”
Donald remained free, along with four other people who came out of the orleans justice center on May 16. The authorities have reclaimed five of the 10 natives who escaped.
Law enforcement officials warn that helping the fugitives will bring serious consequences. “Those who choose to help or hide these people violate the law and will be held accountable,” said the State Police. “Growing the fugitive threatens the safety of our community and will not be tolerated.”
Under Louisiana’s law, a punishment for accessories after the fact of carrying a penalty of up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $ 500, or both.
LSP announced on Wednesday that 32 -year -old Cortnie Harris and 38 -year -old Corvanntay Baptiste was arrested and charged with accusations of crime as an accessory after the facts. They were both ordered at the PlaqueMines parish detention center, officials said.

Earlier on Thursday, the Orleans Parish District Attorney issued a court call to Sheriff Orleans Susan Hutson, and other Opso staff members as part of the ongoing investigation against the escape of the prisoners.
The order demands access to email, text messages, internal messages, from or to Hutson and other opso staff and contractors, including those to Sterling Williams, prison maintenance workers who are captured in connection with Jailbreak.
Williams, a 33 -year -old maintenance worker at the Orleans Parish Justice Center, was arrested and imprisoned on Tuesday morning, according to Attorney General Louisiana Liz Murrill.
Williams allegedly closed the water to the toilet to help clean the road for prisoners to escape, said the source. The prisoners, including the three who were charged with a second -level murder and remained in the escape, could come out after tearing the toilet from their hinges.
Four other prison employees have been suspended in this investigation.
