175+ Democrats Support the Naacp lawsuit against the demolition of the Ministry of Education

More than 175 members of the Democrat Congress submitted Brief Amicus on Thursday against the reshuffle of the Trump government against the US Department of Education.
“The law cannot be clearer: the president does not have the authority to unilaterally abolish the Ministry of Education,” Senator Elizabeth Warren wrote in a statement that was first obtained by ABC News, added, “Donald Trump is not a king, and he cannot singly cut access to education for students throughout the country.”
Members of the Warren Committee and Jamie Raskin ranking in Judiciary, Bobby Scott about education, and Rosa Delauro about the allocation of leading 15 pages of legal documents. They joined the minority leader of the Chuck Schumer senate, more than 20 Democratic senates, and more than 150 other Democrat House Caucus members.

In March, the case argued that the department of departure through the reduction of workers who cut almost half of the agency staff – among other steps such as ending the law grant program – violated the separation of power and did not have constitutional authority.

Naacp, National Education Association (NEA), and the group coalition submitted an initial court order with the US District Court in the Maryland District this week, with the reason that the judge’s consideration for this case was needed after the new government’s decision was to pause more than $ 6 billion in an appropriate education program in front of the school year.
“Moti sought drugs for serious damage caused by Trump administration to students, educators, schools, and universities and universities, and asked the court to direct the department to fulfill their legal obligations to students throughout the country,” according to a statement issued by NEA, which represented more than 3 million educators.
Raskin condemned administrative efforts to curb public education, competing President Donald Trump and Educational Secretary Linda McMahon could not abolish the agency without the approval of the congress.
“Congress created the Department of Education to ensure that every student in America can get high -quality free public school education,” Raskin wrote in a statement. “This is the right of every citizen and democratic protection that is important for political tyranny,” he said.
“There is no president who has the authority to dismantle federal agents created by law. We will go to court to defend not only the power of the congress but also the mission of the Department of National Education, which is a pillar of American democracy,” Raskin added.
The power to rearrange the executive branch of the congress and underlined by the fact that when the president has rearranged the executive branch, they have done it “through law and subject to the right restraint,” according to Brief by parliament members.
Brief they argue that only the congress has the authority to make, restructure, and eliminate federal institutions, it must be done through laws, and the Ministry of Education cannot be eliminated unilaterally because it is legally mandated.

Joe Neguse’s representative, D-Colorado, told ABC News who closed the department to strip “vital support” of tens of millions of students and teachers.
“I am proud to stand up with my colleagues in the DPR and Senate to uphold the responsibility of the congress to ensure that each student has access to quality education and to maintain the important work of the Ministry of Education,” Neguse said.
Efforts to dismantle the department have been blocked by a lower court in this spring. The Supreme Court is expected to consider the Massachusetts case that can decide whether the shooting of nearly 2,000 employees at the agency booth. McMahon has emphasized important functions from the permanent department and services such as students with disabilities, for example, can eventually be moved to other agencies.
This brief is part of our larger Warren campaign Save which he started after Trump signed an executive order to reduce the Ministry of Education.
“The federal government has invested in our public school,” Warren told ABC News in April. “Taking it from our children so that a handful of billionaires can be richer -really ugly, and I will fight it with everything I have.”
Senator had previously asked the Inspector General Office of the Review of the Department of Government Efficiency which was suspected to be a “infiltration” from the Federal Student Loan Database of the Internal Agency. Before the Save Our Schools campaign, he investigated the shooting of federal student assistance employees and how to reduce staff at the agency could have “terrible consequences” for borrowers.
This brief also emerged after Raskin and several other Democrat Houses met with McMahon about the future of the agency. The meeting seemed to leave many people with unanswered questions, such as Rep. Frederica Wilson, a member of the DPR Education and Manpower Committee, who also signed a contract with Amicus Brief.
“So that the Ministry of Education is dismantled, it will make a surprise for this country,” said Wilson, a former school principal and educator for life. “School is the foundation of this country. When schools work, our country too.”
